CalKIDS Children's Savings Accounts

State-funded children's savings account program automatically seeding $25-$100 college savings accounts for eligible low-income public school students in kindergarten through 12th grade, and for newborns.

Eligibility requirements

  • Automatically enrolled: public school students in K-12 qualifying for free/reduced-price lunch, foster youth, and children with Medi-Cal
  • Newborns born after July 1, 2022 enrolled through birth registration
  • No application needed for eligible students.
