Florida Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP)

Helps low-income Florida households pay overdue water and wastewater bills to prevent service shutoff. Funds are paid directly to your water utility provider. Administered through local community action agencies statewide. Separate from LIHEAP which only covers electric and gas bills.

Eligibility requirements

  • Household income at or below 60% of Florida State Median Income
  • Must be responsible for paying your own water or wastewater bill
  • Must be at risk of service disconnection or have already been disconnected
  • Apply through your local LIHEAP county provider at FloridaLIHEAP.com.
