Eligibility requirements

  • Worked for employer 12+ months
  • Employer has 50+ employees
  • Serious health condition
  • Also covers caring for spouse, child, or parent with serious condition
Insider tip

FMLA is unpaid but protects your job and health insurance for 12 weeks. File immediately — notify HR in writing the day you or your family member is hospitalized. Can be used intermittently for doctor appointments too.
