SUN Meals - Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) Texas

Administered by USDA Food and Nutrition Service / Texas Department of Agriculture · fns.usda.gov

Free meals and snacks for children and teens during summer months at schools, parks, libraries, churches, and community centers across Texas. No application required - any child or teen can walk up and eat at no cost. In rural areas, SUN Meals To-Go offers grab-and-go or home delivery options. This is the primary summer nutrition program available in Texas since the state has chosen not to participate in Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) for 2026. Find a site by texting FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304, calling 2-1-1, or using the SUN Meals site finder.

Eligibility requirements

  • Any child or teen under age 18 (or up to age 21 with a disability). No income requirement, no documentation, no application. Available June through August at participating sites. Children typically must eat meals at the site (in-person), except in rural areas with SFSP non-congregate or SUN Meals To-Go waivers.
