Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)

Provides low-income seniors with coupons to buy fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs directly at farmers' markets, roadside stands, and CSA farms. Available in 27+ states.

Eligibility requirements

  • Age 60 or older (55 for Native Americans in some states)
  • Income at or below 185% of federal poverty level
  • Available in participating states — check USDA for your state
Insider tip

SFMNP coupons can be used at authorized farmers' markets — just show up. Benefits go fast early in the season. Contact your local Area Agency on Aging to find the nearest distribution point. WIC recipients can also get similar coupons through the separate WIC FMNP.
