TX CHIP / CHIP Perinatal

Texas CHIP covers uninsured children 0–18 not eligible for Medicaid. CHIP Perinatal covers unborn children of pregnant women who don't qualify for full Medicaid.

Eligibility requirements

  • TX resident child under 19
  • Family income up to 201% FPL for CHIP
  • Pregnant woman with income 198%–201% FPL for Perinatal

CHIP Perinatal is one of the least-known programs — it covers the unborn child even when the mother doesn't qualify for Medicaid. Apply as early as possible in pregnancy.
