Texas CHIP - Children's Health Insurance Program

Low cost health coverage for uninsured children under age 19 in families that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance. Covers doctor visits, prescriptions, dental, vision, hospital stays, and mental health services. Annual enrollment fees range from $0 to $50 per family with small copays for some services.

Eligibility requirements

✓Texas resident under age 19, household income up to 201% FPL, US citizen or qualifying immigrant, must be uninsured. Children losing Medicaid due to income increase are screened automatically.
